The Thing With Feathers released 'These Drugs', the third single from their upcoming sophomore EP, Waste My Revenge.
The single comes on the heels of 'Waste My Revenge' being added to three editorial playlists across Spotify and Apple Music upon release including 'Fresh Finds Rock', their ‘Lights Down Low’ music video being added into rotation on MTVs Spankin’ New, and a featured performance at this year’s South By Southwest in Austin, TX prior to embarking on a tour throughout the U.S. that recently concluded in Cleveland, OH.
Immediately following the November 4th release, 'These Drugs' was added to Spotify's 'New Noise' and 'All New Rock' editorial playlists as well as Apple Music's 'The New Rock' and 'New In Rock' playlists. The single, their catchiest to date, manages to evoke conflicting emotion through its despairing lyrics while bringing the bands commerciality and danceability to the forefront.
"These Drugs is about toxic love. It’s about being in the worst part of a bad relationship. Where you know it’s over but you’re still hanging on for any hit of the high it used to be. It’s the slow death of an optimist, only living in glimpses of the past" says Dave Welcsh, lead singer of the group.
